Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Vijay Kumar, along with the Directorate General of Maritime Administration (DGMA) and the accompanying delegation, undertook a boat tour of the Port of Hamburg — one of Europe's largest and busiest ports.

The tour offered a first-hand view of the port's expansive terminal network, waterfront operations and integrated logistics, complementing the delegation's earlier terminal visits and interactions during the visit to Hamburg. Observing the scale, efficiency and multimodal connectivity of the port from the water provided valuable perspective on how large, modern ports orchestrate vessel movements, cargo handling and sustainable operations at scale — insights that will inform India's own drive to build smart, efficient and future-ready ports as part of a globally competitive maritime ecosystem.
