SECL Inauguration of a four-day training program for authorized officers
A four-day awareness and capacity-building training program for officers authorized under Sections 22, 23B, and 24 of the MMDR Act, 1957, was inaugurated today at SECL Headquarters, Bilaspur, in the presence of Director (Personnel) Biranchi Das.

Serving as the subject matter expert, retired IPS officer and Senior Advisor (Security) at BCCL, Vipul Shukla, provided detailed information on various provisions of the MMDR Act, actions regarding illegal mining and mineral transportation, investigation procedures, and the preparation of robust prosecution reports. He also highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the officers authorized under the Act.

Speaking on the occasion, Biranchi Das remarked that such training programs provide officers with a better understanding of legal provisions and enable them to discharge their duties effectively.

The training program, being conducted in various batches from June 23 to June 26, 2026, aims to sensitize authorized officers under the MMDR Act about their rights, obligations, and relevant legal procedures. Participants in the training include SECL General Managers, Agents, Managers, HR department officials, Security department officers and staff, as well as CISF personnel.

During the program, participants are also being apprised of practical and procedural aspects related to the subject, enabling them to carry out their duties in a more effective and responsible manner.
