The misconduct of Ahuja becomes more serious coupled with malafide intentions as he was in custody of complete copy of the complaint on Venkatesh Infra Projects P Ltd[a FAKE Project], being the Inquiry Officer in the FAKE and Malicious disciplinary proceedings initiated against the Whistle Blower Rajeev Bhatia to take revenge on him for exposing the corruption of SAIL management.

CLIMAX CREATION is a properitership firm with principal place of business as “1st, 62, Sarun Prasad, Koshiyawan, Chamhera Higher Secondary School, Ekangarsarai, Chamehra, Nalanda, Bihar, 801301”.

Rupesh Kumar Diwakar, the properiter of CLIMAX CREATION suddenly appears from nowhere in mid of July 2023 and the Eastern Region of SAIL-CMO started supplying TMT Bars to him from Aug 2023 at heavy discounts in the name of Projects.

Aug 2023 not was an ordinary month in terms of steel prices. Market was highly buoyant during Aug 2023 and its signs were visible quite early. Responding to the market prices, it has been gathered that SAIL increase the prices for TMT Bars by about Rs.4150 PMT & Rs.1750 PMT in Sep 2023 & Oct 2023 over the average prices of Aug 2023 & Sep 2023 respectively. In simple terms it means whosoever was given TMT Bars by the SAIL officials in the Month of Aug 2023 were able make profit of about Rs 6,000 per tonne in a period of two months i.e. about 60% annual rate of return.

Amarendu fools Ministry and Ministry gets fooled

Above must be seen in the light of fact that on July 31, 2023, Arindam Dasgupta, Executive Director of Chairman’s Sectt. forwarded the comments of Chairman SAIL Amarendu Prakash to Neeraj Agarwal, Director (Vigilance) of Ministry of Steel, on the report of CVO SAIL submitted to the Ministry of Steel with respect to complaints on Venkatesh Infra Projects P Ltd and Avon Steel Industries P Ltd. With respect to the FAKE Projects SAIL Chairman wrote and is quoted below:

 “Investigation has suggested some system improvement points which are appreciated and a team of officers has been formed to explore the possibility of improvements”

Despite giving in writing to the Ministry of Steel, Amarendu took no action to stop the sales to the FAKE Projects, rather the numbers spiraled exponentially. The immediate two months i.e. Aug 2023 and Sep 2023, saw SAIL officials selling over 1,25,000 T of TMT Bars to FAKE Projects, surpassing the monthly average by miles. To ride the tide of unprecedented buoyancy in the steel market, on one hand huge volumes were given to the existing FAKE Project firms and on the other hand many new Project firms were introduced/inducted in the SAIL system.

He is the sales representative of Sri Balaji Iron, a trader/construction material supplier based at Phulwari Sharif, Patna.

1.    What was the process followed by Ahuja to select CLIMAX CREATION to give subsidy of lakhs of rupees in the name of Projects?

2.  Rather than asking Sri Balaji Iron to bring a new firm CLIMAX CREATION, why TMT Bars were not sold directly by Ahuja to Sri Balaji Iron?

3.    What was being hidden by Ahuja, from whom and why?
