Preventive vigilance campaign launched as vigilance awareness week
Western Coalfields Limited launched a Preventive Vigilance Campaign today, August 17, 2026, as part of Vigilance Awareness Week-2026. The launch took place in the presence of Chairman-cum-Managing Director Dr. Hemant Sharad Pandey, Director (Finance and Human Resources) Vikram Ghosh, Director Technical (Planning/Projects) Sandeep Paranjape, and Chief Vigilance Officer Ajay Madhukar Mhetre.

In his address, CMD Dr. Hemant Sharad Pandey stated that WCL is moving forward in the direction of preventive vigilance. He advised everyone to be aware of the necessary rules and policies and utilize them during work. He also appealed for active participation in the activities taking place during the campaign.

CMD Dr. Hemant Sharad Pandey, while giving the message of adopting honesty in one's daily life, said that this year's inspiring theme is "Prosperity through Integrity." It is not just a topic or a slogan, but a path to strengthening our personal lives, families, society, and nation. Integrity doesn't just mean speaking the truth. Being honest in your thoughts, words, and actions, performing your duties diligently, and having the courage to make the right decisions in the right circumstances—this is true integrity. Practice integrity not just on big occasions, but in the small things of your daily life. Completing your work on time, being completely honest in your actions, and having the courage to admit mistakes—these are all examples of an honest life.

He urged everyone to make "Prosperity through Integrity" their life's commitment.

In his address, CVO Ajay Madhukar Mhetre provided detailed information about Vigilance Awareness Week and the activities under this campaign. He also provided information regarding this year's theme, "Prosperity through Integrity," and emphasized the importance of improving work processes and preventive vigilance.

The program began with the National Anthem, the National Anthem, and the Coal India Corporate Song and concluded with the National Anthem. A large number of department heads, officers, and staff participated in the program. Department Head (Vigilance) Navneet Khare proposed the vote of thanks.
