Official Language Implementation Committee meeting concludes at SECL
Presiding over the meeting, Director (Personnel) Biranchi Das stated that since we reside and work in 'Region A' (Hindi-speaking region), we should maximize the use of the Official Language, Hindi, in our official duties and encourage those around us to work in Hindi as well. He urged all officers to ensure the extensive use of Hindi in official and day-to-day tasks and to periodically review—on their own initiative—the progress of Hindi correspondence and work.
During the meeting, the Hindi progress reports of all regional offices and headquarters departments for the January–March 2026 quarter were reviewed. Additionally, a review was conducted regarding maximizing Hindi usage in the e-Office system, compliance with Section 3(3) of the Official Language Act, the status of replying in Hindi to letters received in Hindi (under Official Language Rule 5), progress in replying in Hindi to letters received in English, the status of bilingual replies, and replies issued solely in English. Furthermore, a detailed review of departmental work being carried out in Hindi on official files was also conducted. The meeting was conducted by Manager (Official Language) Smt. Savita Nirmalkar.
