NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has taken a significant step towards accelerating its digital transformation journey by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) for collaboration in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Capacity Building, and Strategic Digital Initiatives.

The MoU was signed on July 14, 2026 at NLCIL's Corporate Office, Neyveli, in the esteemed presence of Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines); Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, Director (Finance) (through VC); Samir Swarup, Director (HR); Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia, Director (Planning & Projects) & Director (Power) (Additional Charge); along with senior officials from NLCIL and representatives from IIT Kanpur.

This collaboration aims to leverage cutting-edge AI and ML technologies to enhance operational efficiency, foster innovation, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and build future-ready digital capabilities across the organisation. It will also facilitate joint research, knowledge sharing, and skill development in emerging technology domains.
