NHPC’s 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric project accomplished
In a significant stride towards the completion of NHPC’s 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (Arunachal Pradesh/Assam), the boxing-up of Unit was successfully accomplished on June 14m, 2026 in the presence of Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC.

CMD, NHPC congratulated and lauded dedication, perseverance and hard work of all employees in accomplishing yet another major milestone towards the completion of this prestigious project. He also expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders including locals, associated with the project and the executing agencies-M/s GE Vernova, M/s BGS-SGS-SOMA, M/s TREL, M/s PEL for their invaluable contributions. Emphasizing the strategic importance of the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project in strengthening the nation’s clean energy capacity and ensuring sustainable development of the region, he encouraged the team to maintain the same momentum and commitment towards the timely commissioning of the remaining units of this project of national importance.

The occasion was attended by Rajendra Prasad, ED (In-charge) & Head of Subansiri Lower Project; P K Ray, ED (EM & HM), SLP; Narender Kumar, ED (Dibang); U K Nand, ED (PMSG); along with other senior officers from NHPC’s Corporate Office.
