NCL: Portals launched for digital management of ‘document verification’
Land acquisition work is underway under the Morwa resettlement process for the expansion of the Jayant project—the largest project of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a key subsidiary of Coal India Limited based in Singrauli. To make this process more transparent, accountable, and stakeholder-friendly, NCL launched ‘LADM 2.0’—a new version of the ‘Land Acquisition and Data Management’ (LADM) platform—featuring a revamped digital interface on Friday.

Under this initiative, the ‘DSVT’, ‘R&R’, and ‘Possession’ portals have been integrated into the ‘Land Acquisition and Data Management Platform’ to digitally manage processes related to ‘document scrutiny and verification’, ‘compensation payment’, and the transfer of ownership of land and assets. Additionally, the entire LADM platform is being linked to the ERP system.

Launching these new digital features via video conferencing (VC), NCL CMD B Sairam stated that digitalization is an effective tool to ensure speed and accuracy in the Singrauli resettlement process. Congratulating the Singrauli Resettlement Cell on this new digital initiative, he urged them to carry forward the resettlement work with renewed enthusiasm, speed, and efficiency.

Through these new portals, the digital management of data related to rehabilitation benefits, the management of land and asset ownership transfer (possession), and the maintenance, scrutiny, and verification of documents via the DSVT (Document Scrutiny and Verification Team) can be executed more effectively in a digital format.

With the launch of the aforementioned portals, the entire resettlement process—from the initial survey to compensation payment—has now been digitized. These new features will ensure minimal human intervention in the land acquisition process. The absence of manual intervention will ensure that the entire process is executed with greater efficiency and accuracy.

Furthermore, all data will remain securely stored in the cloud for the long term, ensuring the safe storage, preservation, and immediate availability of records.

NCL Director (Personnel) Manish Kumar, General Manager (SPC) Niranjan Rukmangad, other officials and staff from the Singrauli Rehabilitation Cell, and representatives from Deloitte were present on this occasion.

The ‘Land Acquisition and Data Management’ (LADM) platform—available in both Hindi and English—already offered features such as survey and digital data collection, validation and OTP-based verification, review of measurement details by affected families, grievance management, and automated calculation of compensation for land and assets.

NCL’s LADM 2.0 platform will further strengthen transparency, accountability, speed, accuracy, efficiency, data security, and digital empowerment within the land acquisition and rehabilitation process.
