NCDC Textiles Division holds a workshop
The Textiles Division of NCDC organized a workshop on "Cooperative Handloom Sector in India – Current Status and Way Forward" at NCDC Headquarters in New Delhi. Key stakeholders participated in the workshop and deliberated on strategies to strengthen the cooperative handloom sector and ensure its sustainable development.
Representatives from 14 State Handloom Federations/Cooperatives across the country, collectively representing over 500,000 handloom weaver members, participated in the workshop.
Key speakers from the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), the National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC), and the Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) shared valuable information and useful suggestions on various schemes, programs, and opportunities available in the sector.
During the workshop, key topics such as raw material supply, product traceability, training and skill development, marketing and export, brand building, and strengthening collaboration among handloom cooperatives were discussed in detail.
