Robert H. Touthang, Regional Director, NCDC, Guwahati, and Team met K C Samria, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Fisheries), Prashanta Barkakoty, Additional Secretary (Fisheries), Gauri Shankar Das, Director of Fisheries, Ratul Sarma, Nodal Officer (Cooperatives), Chandan Chetri, Nodal Officer (PMMSY & PM-MKSSY), and Arupjyoti Patgiri, FDO, FISHFED and apprised them of NCDC’s Schemes, Activities, and developmental interventions in the state.

Discussions focused on existing cooperative initiatives and ways to strengthen growth of Assam's fishery sector, emphasizing its high potential and the scope for a comprehensive project covering the entire value chain.

High-level discussions were held on launching the Integrated Fisheries Development Project (IFDP) under PMMSY-II.

NCDC is committing technical assistance & support in preparing the DPR to empower our fisheries sector.
