As part of the ongoing tour of P Jawahar IAS, Chairman, MPEDA, to Andhra Pradesh, Mrs K Kalpasree IAS, Joint Collector, West Godavari District, met the chairman on August18, 2026 and held discussions on the status of Seafood Exports and Aquaculture activities from the region at the MPEDA Integrated Office Complex Building, Bhimavaram.

The discussions provided an opportunity to review issues concerning the fisheries and aquaculture sector and to strengthen coordination among MPEDA, the district-level administration, and fisheries authorities.

Dr Srinivas, DFO and Joint Director (FAC), Department of Fisheries, Bhimavaram, briefed the chairman about the following: Aquaculture status in the district; Subsidized aqua power connections in the district by Govt. of AP; Capacity building programmes being conducted jointly with the support of MPEDA; Task force inspections; Farm registrations and MPEDA farm enrolment; Bhimavaram Brackish Water Aquaculture Cluster etc.

The meeting was attended by Dr S. Kandan, Joint Director (Retd.), Dr Gopal Anand K, Deputy Director, MPEDA SRD Bhimavaram and Ms Daiahun Khonglam, CEO NaCSA.
