MPEDA Celebrates Independence Day

MPEDA Celebrates Independence Day
The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) celebrated the 80th Independence Day with the ceremonial hoisting of the Tricolour by its Chairman, P. Jawahar, IAS, at the Head Office in Kochi.

Officials and family members from the Head Office, field offices, and societies came together to sing Vande Mataram, followed by the National Anthem.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman acknowledged the dedication and contribution of stakeholders across the seafood sector, including farmers, fishermen, seafood processors, exporters, and MPEDA officials and staff, along with their families. He highlighted their collective role in strengthening the nation through increased seafood exports.

Drawing upon the timeless wisdom of poet Avvaiyar, he emphasised that national prosperity begins at the grassroots by empowering farmers, protecting natural resources, and ensuring food security.

He summed up the message by stating: “When the farmers and fishermen prosper, the processors and exporters prosper; when the processors and exporters prosper, India will prosper.”
