MD DFCCIL inspects of new Dadri–New Ateli–New Dabla section
Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), undertook a comprehensive inspection of infrastructure projects and business development initiatives along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) from New Dadri to New Dabla. During the visit, he reviewed measures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, augmenting freight transportation capacity, and advancing renewable energy initiatives.
Praveen Kumar commenced his visit from New Dadri, where he inspected ROB-191H and the IMD building. During the inspection, he reviewed various technical and operational aspects of the projects and directed officials to complete all requisite formalities for their early commissioning. He also assessed the readiness of the IMD facility and emphasized the need for its expeditious operationalization. Interacting with concerned officials, the Managing Director reviewed the progress and status of ongoing works in detail. Thereafter, he undertook an inspection of the New Dadri–New Rewari section by rail car, during which he reviewed various business development initiatives and assessed measures being undertaken to augment freight traffic and enhance corridor utilization.
At New Rewari, Shri Praveen Kumar inaugurated the operationalization of a modified rake of FMP wagons aimed at strengthening DFCCIL's Trucks-on-Train (ToT) services. The redesigned low-floor wagons, featuring a floor height of 975 mm, facilitate the seamless transportation of commercial and defence vehicles as non-ODC loads. With a carrying capacity of up to 60 tonnes, the wagons provide a high-capacity and efficient rail-based freight transportation solution.
The Managing Director also reviewed the enhanced loading and securing arrangements developed for the rake. Based on feedback received from industry stakeholders, DFCCIL, in collaboration with RDSO, has introduced a simplified and user-friendly lashing system. The revised design optimizes lashing requirements based on vehicle weight categories, with lighter-duty lashing arrangements for smaller vehicles and heavy-duty securing systems for truck loads above 45 tonnes.
Praveen Kumar also laid the foundation stone for a Solar Power Project under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model at New Rewari station, aimed at promoting the use of clean energy within DFCCIL's infrastructure. Thereafter, he inspected various sections of the corridor. At New Ateli, the Managing Director inaugurated DFCCIL's self-financed Solar Power Project developed under the CAPEX model. By dedicating the solar installation to service, he reaffirmed DFCCIL's commitment towards the development of environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure.
In the afternoon, Praveen Kumar inspected the New Ateli–New Dabla section and inspected NICDC's Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) at Nangal Chaudhary, being developed as part of the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) project. During the visit, he reviewed the progress of the terminal, rail connectivity arrangements and its potential to strengthen multimodal logistics infrastructure in the region. He directed officials to ensure timely completion of the project in accordance with the prescribed quality standards.
The inspection was attended by Manish K Awasthy, Executive Director (Infrastructure); S P Verma, GGM (Business Development & Business Analytics); Ranvijay Singh, GGM (Electrical); Vikas Srivastava, GGM (Signal & Telecommunications); Sudeep Prasad, AGM (Corporate Communications); Anurag Yadav, CGM/Noida, for the Noida Unit jurisdiction; and Rajender Singh Chaudhary, CGM/Jaipur, for the Jaipur Unit jurisdiction. Prashant Kumar, GGM (Mechanical), joined the visit at New Rewari. During the inspection of NICDC's GCT at Nangal Chaudhary, Anirudh Yadav, Deputy Managing Director, and Sanjeet Singh, Chief Operating Officer, NICDC Haryana Multi Modal Logistics Hub Project Ltd., were also present.
