Where tradition meets innovation and every craft tells a story, Indie Haat at Bharat Tex 2026 opened its doors with grandeur, celebrating the unparalleled richness of India's handloom and handicraft heritage. The event was inaugurated by Mrs Neelam Shami Rao, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, in the esteemed presence of Dr M Beena, Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Mrs Amrit Raj, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ms. Vrunda Manohar Desai, IRS, Textile Commissioner & Vice-Chairperson, Textiles Committee, and Mrs Tanu Kashyap, IAS, Director General, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Following the inauguration, Mrs Tanu Kashyap, IAS, along with Prof. (Dr.) Noopur Anand, Dean, NIFT, guided the dignitaries through the exhibition meticulously curated and designed by NIFT as the Knowledge Partner. The immersive showcase brings together master artisans, GI-tagged crafts, heritage weaves, and contemporary design interventions, reflecting the enduring spirit of India's living craft traditions while celebrating India's rich textile heritage.
