The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at REC Headquarters, Gurugram. On this occasion, Chairman and Managing Director, Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, extended his heartfelt greetings to all officers and employees on Independence Day.

In his address, he underlined REC's important role in nation-building and highlighted the efforts being made to strengthen the country's power sector. He stated that REC is playing a key role as the nodal agency in programs such as the PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme (PMSG:MBY), the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), and rural electrification.

He noted the significant progress of the PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme, highlighting REC's contribution to promoting clean energy in the country, accelerating solar rooftop installations on over 5 million homes to date, and the sustainable development of the energy sector.

Jitendra Srivastava appreciated the contribution of all the members of REC family and expressed confidence that with collective efforts, dedication and commitment, REC will continue to make significant contribution in meeting the energy needs of the country and realizing the resolve of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Developed India @ 2047.
