A 2008 batch officer of Indian Information Service (IIS), Varun Bhardwaj presently Director in the Ministry of Education has been appointed as Secretary at Director level, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on lateral shift basis, while incumbent Himanshu Gupta (IAS:UT 12) was given premature repatriation to his parent cadre.
