IIM Nagpur inaugurates PMP programme
The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur inaugurated the Professional Management Practice (PMP) programme, a unique three-trimester experiential learning initiative that prepares students to become industry-ready professionals through continuous self-reflection, competency development, mentoring, psychometric assessments, reflective exercises, and field immersion. The programme encourages students to translate classroom learning into practical behavioural competencies, fostering accountability, integrity, self-discipline, and the ability to create value for organisations and society.

The inaugural session featured inspiring addresses by IIM Director Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Prof. Prakash Awasthy, and Prof. Devashis Rath, along with valuable insights from mentors CA Hemant Lodha and CA Pranav Joshi, who shared their experiences of guiding students through the programme. Student representatives also reflected on their PMP journey.

Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, described PMP as ‘not a course, but a mission to transform one’s life in order to become a great manager.’ He encouraged students to embrace every learning opportunity the programme offers.

Sharing his experience as a mentor for the past three years, CA Hemant Lodha said that PMP provides immense insights to students and urged them to make the most of the unique learning opportunities and mentorship available throughout the programme.

CA Pranav Joshi reflected on his mentoring journey, saying that he learns something new from every batch of students. He noted that the programme offers lessons and perspectives that remain valuable throughout one’s professional life.

Students who spoke about the rich learning experiences offered by PMP particularly highlighted the Bharat Darshan Project as one of the programme's most impactful components.

A proud moment of the event was the certificate distribution to 40 students across 8 teams of the previous batch in recognition of the successful completion of their Bharat Darshan Project.

Earlier, Prof. Devashis Rath introduced the PMP framework, its structure, and the expectations from students. He later welcomed the dignitaries during the inaugural session and concluded the event with the vote of thanks.

Wishing the new batch an enriching PMP journey and congratulating the graduating teams on this well-deserved recognition.
