GVMC launches ‘Project SARTHI’ in Visakhapatnam
Taking a major step towards building a smarter and safer Visakhapatnam, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, IAS, along with Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi, IAS,  launched Project SARTHI—an AI-based Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS). A joint review was held at the Police Command and Control Centre, followed by a field inspection at Maddilapalem Junction to assess the proposed implementation.

The project aims to reduce traffic congestion, optimize signal timings through real-time AI analytics, provide priority movement for emergency vehicles, strengthen road safety, and ensure seamless mobility across the city. Through the collaborative efforts of GVMC and Visakhapatnam City Police, Project SARTHI marks a significant milestone in transforming Visakhapatnam into a future-ready Smart City.
