GVMC hosts national-level GASAB review for NMAM–2.0 field assessment
Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) hosted a high-level review meeting as part of the National Municipal Accounting Manual (NMAM–2.0) Field Assessment, led by Ms. Alka Rehani Bhardwaj, IA&AS, Advisor & Chairperson, GASAB, under the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
During the review, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, IAS, presented the Corporation's digital governance and financial management initiatives, including the e-Municipal ERP, DEABAS-CGG accounting system, digital payments, budget and revenue management, asset management, annual financial reporting, and technology-driven citizen services. The Commissioner also provided detailed responses to the 40-point "Accounting & Digital Maturity Assessment for NMAM–2.0" questionnaire.
The review focused on strengthening municipal accounting standards, digital financial management, transparency, and governance reforms to support the development of a modern National Municipal Accounting Manual (NMAM–2.0) for Urban Local Bodies across India.
