GVMC Commissioner directs proactive action on drain management
As the monsoon approaches, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, IAS, has directed officials to implement comprehensive preventive measures to ensure a clean, safe, and resilient Visakhapatnam.

Key focus areas include: Preventing overflow of drains and natural channels through coordinated action. Eliminating Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) and transforming them into green spaces. Strengthening door-to-door waste collection through efficient CLAP vehicle operations. Conducting a zone-wise survey and implementing effective stray dog management measures. Creating awareness among auto-rickshaw drivers to install dustbins and prevent littering. Ensuring timely salary payments to sanitation workers while enforcing strict accountability across all sanitation operations.

GVMC remains committed to safeguarding public health, enhancing urban cleanliness, and delivering better civic services through proactive planning and citizen participation.
