M Vasanthagesan IRS, Executive Director, Rubber Board, and Aravind V S, Regional Manager, State Bank of India (SBI), handed over a cheque for Rs.10 lakh under the Group Term Life Insurance (GTL) Scheme to the daughter of Late Roy Antony, Junior Farm Officer, Central Experiment Station, Chethackal, at the Rubber Board Head Office, Kottayam. Roy Antony passed away following an illness on 02 May 2026.

The insurance benefit was extended by SBI under the Central Government Salary Package (CGSP) Scheme, pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Rubber Board and SBI in January 2026. Under the scheme, Rubber Board employees maintaining salary accounts with SBI are covered by a Group Term Life Insurance benefit of Rs.10 lakh.

Rubber Board employees attended the function in person, while officials from outstation offices joined virtually.

The SBI CGSP Scheme benefits also include Personal Accident Insurance Cover of Rs. 100 lakh, Air Accidental Insurance Cover of Rs. 160 lakh, Permanent Total Disability Cover of  Rs. 100 lakh, and Permanent Partial Disability Cover of up to Rs. 80 lakh, subject to the applicable terms and regulatory guidelines.
