As part of its CSR commitment, RECPDCL, the wholly owned subsidiary of REC Ltd., has extended support of ₹1.25 crore to the District Administration of Kargil, Ladakh, to strengthen education, healthcare and drinking water infrastructure, benefiting nearly 1.95 lakh residents of the district.

A key milestone of the initiative was the flagging off of a 40-seater school bus on 19 June 2026 by Sh. Jitendra Srivastava, CMD, REC Ltd, in the presence of Joint Secretary , Transmission, Government of India, Prince Dhawan, CEO, RECPDCL and distinguished key officials of the UT Administration of Ladakh and LAHDC Kargil.

By enabling safe and reliable transportation, the bus will bring children of the region closer to learning opportunities and a brighter future.
