EIL CMD with Board Members visit HRRL project
CMD reviewed the key process units at the project, including the Main Control Room, in the presence of key delegates from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and the client, HPCL. CMD and other dignitaries from EIL, during an interaction with the site team, emphasised the importance of leveraging digital technologies and modern engineering tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project execution. The dignitaries encouraged the team to maintain the existing project momentum to facilitate timely completion of the balance works with the highest degree of quality and HSE sophistication.
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi dedicated the HRRL project in Pachpadra, Rajasthan, to the nation on July 4, 2026.
The HRRL Refinery project represents a transformational milestone in India’s industrial and energy landscape as the nation’s first grassroots integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex. Developed with a refining capacity of 9 MMTPA and a petrochemical integration capability of 2.4 MMTPA, the project reflects engineering excellence at an extraordinary scale. Featuring one of India’s largest Coke Dome structures and a petrochemical intensity of nearly 26% — among the highest in the country — HRRL has been designed to strengthen India’s energy security and industrial growth ambitions. Built with future-ready sustainability principles such as Zero Liquid Discharge and Quartile-1 Energy Efficiency, the refinery stands as a testament to the collaborative vision of HPCL, the Government of Rajasthan and EIL in creating globally benchmarked, integrated and sustainable energy infrastructure.
