Praveen Kumar, MD/DFCCIL, along with other DFCCIL officials attended an inter-ministerial meeting on the proposed East–West Dedicated Freight Corridor (EWDFC), convened by the Railway Board under the chairpersonship of Shyam Sunder Gupta, Principal Executive Director, Railway Board.

Representatives from Ministry  of Power, Coal, Heavy Industries, Steel, Shipping &Port, DPIIT, NICDC attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on deliberations regarding current traffic projection and future planning along the proposed alignment of the East–West Dedicated Freight Corridor connecting Dankuni (West Bengal) and Surat (Gujarat). This along with discussions on stakeholder inputs and coordinated planning is essential for the development of this strategically important freight infrastructure project.

The East–West Dedicated Freight Corridor is envisioned to strengthen freight logistics, enhance transportation efficiency, and support economic growth by improving connectivity across key industrial and commercial regions of the country.
