Deep resentment against Secretary, Chemicals & Petrochemicals?
A deep resentment is reported to be brewing in the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals against the Secretary. According to sources, staff members are fed up working under Secretary, Ms Nivedita S Verma and want to get rid of her.
Ms Verma, who belongs to a 1991 batch IAS officer of UP cadre, has been working as Secretary with the Department since September 1, 2023 and is due to retire in November 2027.
The staff members are pinning their hopes on the Government that will shift her to another Ministry/department in the list of appointments of newly empanelled Secretaries of 1995 batch.
