MECL CMD, Indra Dev Narayan, was pleased to receive a copy of the recently published book "Coal and Lignite Exploration in India" from Krishna Kumar Kaushik, Former GM (Exploration), MECL co-author of the book, during a courtesy call at MECL.

The book has been authored by Dr. Gaurav Kumar Shukla, former Senior Manager (Geology), MECL and  Krishna Kumar Kaushik, who retired from MECL as General Manager and HoD (Exploration, IT & GS). Drawing upon their extensive professional experience, the publication provides valuable insights into the exploration and evaluation of coal and lignite resources in India.

Kaushik served MECL for over 36 years and is widely recognized for his expertise in coal and lignite exploration, having played a significant role in the exploration and evaluation of numerous coal and lignite blocks across the country. Dr. Shukla has also made notable contributions to the mineral exploration sector through his expertise in geology, exploration strategy and project management.

CMD congratulated the authors on this noteworthy academic and professional contribution and appreciated their efforts in documenting and sharing their rich field experience and technical knowledge for the benefit of geoscience professionals, researchers, students, and the mining industry.
