Chennai Port Authority signs MoUs
The MoU signing ceremony was held in the presence of Chairperson Sachin S. Kurve, IAS, Deputy Chairperson S Viswanathan, Ms. Anugraha P., IAS, and Heads of Departments. Demonstrating that CSR is a responsibility toward building a sustainable society rather than a mere obligation, ChPA has earmarked ₹8.22 Crore across high-impact initiatives.
This year's funding touches every facet of community welfare. Major allocations include ₹1 Crore each to the Greater Chennai Corporation for city-wide development and Pune Vaidyakiya Seva Va Sanshodhan Pratishthan for medical infrastructure. The Port is also funding road safety equipment with the Greater Chennai Traffic Police, medical education at Madras Medical College, the renovation of a century-old dispensary with Sri Ramakrishna Math, and operating costs for special education at Swabodhini School.
From supporting wheelchair table tennis at Raman TT HPC and mobile rehab units with Amar Seva Sangam, to upskilling fishermen youth via TVS Training & Services and collaborating on DD Tamil’s documentary series "Kadal Vaasal", ChPA continues to forge strong partnerships for lasting social change. Additionally, substantial support has been extended to the National Maritime Complex to preserve and celebrate India’s rich maritime heritage.
