Chennai Port Authority demonstrates operational excellence
Chennai Port Authority has once again demonstrated its operational excellence by creating multiple milestones in bulk cargo handling on July 30, 2026, reaffirming its position as one of India's leading ports for efficient and customer-centric cargo operations.  Adding another significant milestone, Chennai Port successfully handled 13,208 MT of Pig Iron, a new cargo commodity, through the vessel MV Agia Charis at Jawahar Dock-IV on the same day. The shipment availed the benefits of the Non-Containerised Cargo Concession Scheme (NCCS) 2026-27, a pioneering initiative of Chennai Port Authority that offers Wharfage Concessions of up to 80% along with Loyalty Bonus Incentives for eligible customers. Further strengthening Chennai Port's cargo handling infrastructure, Sachin S Kurve, IAS, Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority, inaugurated the operations of three state-of-the-art Mobile Cranes (HMCs) deployed by M/s.
