During his visit to New Delhi, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai paid a courtesy call on Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and requested special financial assistance from the Central Government to provide grid electricity to 461 remote and formerly Naxal-affected villages in the Bastar division.

Chief Minister Sai said that providing basic amenities like electricity to villages that have been deprived of development for years due to Naxal violence is now the top priority of the State Government. This initiative will create new opportunities for education, health, employment and livelihood, and will give a new impetus to Bastar's development.
