BEML: Central Research Facility (CRF) Inaugurated
BEML Limited has inaugurated its Central Research Facility (CRF) at the iHub-Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. The facility was inaugurated by Shantanu Roy, CMD, BEML Limited, in the presence of Prof. B. Gurumoorthy, Director, FSID-IISc; Om Prakash Subbarao, CEO, Core Labs-FSID-IISc; Functional Directors and senior leadership of BEML; and distinguished faculty members, researchers and students from IISc. This landmark initiative reflects BEML's growing commitment to innovation-led growth and technology leadership.

Envisioned as BEML's apex research organization, the CRF will serve as a hub for blue-sky, exploratory and applied research, focused on developing breakthrough technologies and future-ready industrial solutions. The facility will drive strategic research programmes, develop proof-of-concepts and technology demonstrators, undertake advanced modelling and validation, and contribute to intellectual property creation through patents and publications.

The research agenda of CRF spans a wide spectrum of emerging technology domains, including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Advanced Materials and Metallurgy, Electronics and Mechatronics, Green Energy and Alternate Propulsion Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing, Intelligent Mobility Solutions, and Next-Generation Transportation Systems. By fostering collaboration among scientists, engineers and researchers, the facility will accelerate the translation of ideas into impactful technologies.

Strategically incubated at IISc Bengaluru, one of the world's premier research institutions, the CRF will strengthen the industry-academia innovation ecosystem and provide access to world-class expertise, infrastructure and talent. Through this partnership, BEML aims to develop globally competitive technologies and future-focused solutions for the defence, aerospace, rail & metro, mining, construction and mobility sectors, contributing to India's technological advancement and self-reliance.
