BEL hosts southern region workshop
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) hosted the Southern Region Workshop on "Advancing Low-Carbon Pathways for a Net Zero India: Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) and Sustainability Exchange Visit for Public Sector Enterprises" at its Bengaluru campus on 24 July 2026.
Organised by Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), and GIZ India, the workshop brought together senior representatives from Public Sector Enterprises across the southern region.
The deliberations focused on global trends in industrial decarbonisation, international collaboration under the LeadIT initiative, and pathways for PSEs to accelerate their transition to low-carbon, climate-resilient operations.
As part of the programme, BEL showcased its key sustainability initiatives, renewable energy projects, energy efficiency measures, and environmental best practices adopted across its units.
The event concluded with a sustainability exchange visit to Doddabommasandra Lake, where participants gained first-hand insights into urban local water management, ie lake rejuvenation, initiatives undertaken as part of its corporate sustainability commitment.
