Assam Chief Secretary attends MSME Day programme
Assam Chief Secretary, Dr Ravi Kota attended the MSME Day 2026 programme organised by the Reserve Bank of India, Guwahati Regional Office, at the NEDFi Convention Centre, Guwahati, as the Chief Guest.

The observance highlighted the vital contribution of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to entrepreneurship, employment generation and inclusive economic growth. As the backbone of the economy, MSMEs play a crucial role in driving innovation, creating livelihoods and strengthening local economies.

He emphasised the need to enhance access to formal credit, strengthen financial inclusion and improve institutional support mechanisms to enable MSMEs to scale up, improve productivity and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving economic landscape.

The programme provided a valuable platform for interaction among entrepreneurs, financial institutions and stakeholders on measures to improve credit flow, promote financial literacy and strengthen the overall MSME ecosystem.

Kota appreciated the efforts of the Reserve Bank of India and partner institutions in supporting MSME development and promoting inclusive growth. Reaffirmed the Government of Assam’s commitment to creating an enabling policy environment that fosters enterprise development, investment and employment opportunities across the State.
